Catag at Ebertplatz

Atmospherically dense through urban bleakness

Street artist AJ Polonia and visual artist Uli Sigg, well known as Catag, were invited to create a 20 minutes video-loop for a giant LED-Installation. „Fries TV“ presents video and animation art on the concrete frieze of the Ebertplatz passage daily for several weeks. A small working group from Unser Ebertplatz, along with light and video artists, selected four distinct artistic positions to form the core program. Additionally, room for experimentation was intentionally left open.

Project Participants & Organization: Fries TV – Open Video Art Channel at Ebertplatz is organized by the actors of the interim use UNSER EBERTPLATZ and Brunnen e.V., the association of art spaces in the Ebertplatz passage, in collaboration with the Cultural Office of the City of Cologne.

Technical Direction: Roman Jungblut (Media Artist, Unser Ebertplatz)

Consultation: Marcel Panne (Light Artist, Lichtfaktor), Nadine Müseler (Specialist for Visual Arts and Literature, Cultural Office/City of Cologne)
